Bison swim head coach Vlastimil (Vlastik) Cerny said, “The restructure is a departure of the last 20 years and this is a big movement for the Bison swim program.

The swim program structure has three components that will allow swimmers a chance to grow and continue in the sport. Starting with the Bison Children’s Program, it is a one of a kind program in Canada, that boast a base of over 7000 children to pool participants from. The ‘Learn to Swim’ stream holds 800 children plus the Mini Bison program are areas that will give opportunity to beginner swimmers. The second level is the competitive stream of the Youth Bisons, Junior Bisons and then the university senior level. Finally, swimmers that excel will be funneled into a high performance Olympic program to harness their skills and desire to compete at the highest level of swimming.
