WATERLOO – Former ROW Swimmer and Two time Olympian Laura Nicholls was inducted into the Waterloo County Hall of Fame this weekend. The Waterloo County Hall of Fame has over 400 inductees from sport heroes to community builders and pioneers.

Laura Nicholls, 29 has enjoyed an outstanding career in swimming, being an national champion 18 times, multi medal winner at the Pan Am and Commonwealth Games.

Over her career Laura held several Canadian records and represented Canada at the 1996 and 200 Olympic Games.

Laura swam 20 of her 22 years with the Region of Waterloo Swim Club and her parents Chris and Valerie were active in many capacities in the club from meet management and fundraising to being on the Board of Directors.

Laura was in good company in the 2008 induction along side Gymnast Yvonne Tousek and Boxer Fitzroy Vanderpool.

Laura is now coaching for the Oakville Aquatic Club giving back to the up and comers in that program.
