Canadian Swimming contributor passes away

WINNIPEG, MB – Swimming Canada regrets to announce that long time swimming contributor Philip Clark passed away today. Many within the swimming community will miss Philip, and Swimming Canada would like to express its condolences to his family and friends.

Dr. Philip Clark has been a noteworthy figure in the Manitoba and Canadian swim community for several years.

Philip began his swim community service in the early 1980’s, officiating and serving on his club executive. Philip’s strong leadership and organizational ability created the financial foundation, which continues to carry his club forward. Philip was elected to serve as a Director of Swim Manitoba, and has led the provincial section as President during the past five years.

Dr. Clark has served on the Executive of the SNC Board and has chaired or sits on various committees. Mr. Clark (Sport Chair) was instrumental in the success of the Pan Am Games Swimming competition. He served on the Swim Manitoba Board as Past President and was Chair of the Manitoba Association for the Support of Swimming Excellence, which is a foundation, established by Swim Mantioba to provide scholarships and grants to the competitive swim community in Manitoba.

Dr. Philip Clark will be greatly missed.
