Swift Current, SK – Brooks Macek scored in a shootout to give the Calgary Hitmen a 4-3 win over the Swift Current Broncos Tuesday night.
The victory capped the longest road trip of the season for the Hitmen who finished their six games in eight days journey with a record of 3-2-1-0.
Cody Sylvester scored twice while Victor Rask added a single for Calgary who built leads of 1-0, 2-1 and 3-2. Jaynen Rissling also chipped in a pair of assists in the victory.
Taylor Vause netted a pair of goals for for Swift Current before Trevor Cameron forced overtime with 3:32 remaining.
Chris Driedger made 24 saves plus three more in the shootout to pick up the win in goal as Calgary outshot the Broncos 35-27.
Calgary, 8-8-1-1 on the season, will open a four game home stand Friday night against the Seattle Thunderbirds. It’s the Remembrance Day game with the Hitmen offering complimentary admission to past and present members of the military, and to all police, fire and EMS service members. Present your identification card to receive one free ticket. Game time is 7:00 p.m. at Scotiabank Saddledome.
Friday is also Student Night. Show your student I.D. to receive a special ticket rate of $8.
The Hitmen will also host the Lethbridge Hurricanes Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
