Calgary, AB – Rookie Alex Gogolev posted four points (2g 2a) in a first star performance as the Calgary Hitmen defeated the Lethbridge Hurricanes 6-2 Sunday evening at Scotiabank Saddledome.

Calgary jumped to an early lead with goals from Trevor Cheek, Victor Rask, who posted his sixth powerplay marker of the season, and Jimmy Bubnick before the Hurricanes rallied back with two quick goals from Graham Hood and Nick Buonassisi late in the opening frame.

The Hitmen then scored three unanswered goals, one from Danny Gayle and two off the stick of Gogolev, in the second and third periods to secure the win.

Special teams played a large role in the victory as the Hitmen went 3-5 on the powerplay while killing all three Hurricanes chances.
