Friday night’s WHL game will feature two of the league leaders in the Wheat Kings and visiting Medicine Hat Tigers. Both enter the weekend with impressive records of 14-6-1-1.
Operation Red Nose is a free, volunteer-run designated driver service during the holidays that caters to motorists who do not feel fit to drive home. Volunteers provide patrons a safe ride home in their own vehicle. Donations are accepted and all proceeds will go to support both community and sports programs in Manitoba.
Benefitting from this year’s campaign will be Hockey Brandon and the Westman Traditional Christmas Dinner.
In 2010, thanks to volunteers representing both local organizations, over 450 rides were carried out in Brandon. Throughout the province, over 1800 volunteers teamed up to provide over 3,000 rides during the holiday festivities.
