Jessica Renfrew had a game high 27 points to lead the University of Victoria Vikes to a 73-65 victory over the Thompson Rivers University Wolfpack on Friday night.
The Vikes got out to an early 11-10 lead after the first quarter but TRU fought back in the second to score 24 points and go into the half time break with a 34-29 lead.

Head Coach Rich Chambers must have gave an inspirational talk during the break as the Vikes came out and dominated the 3rd quarter outscoring the Wolfpack 31-17 to take a 60-51 lead. Renfrew was particularly inspired as she knocked down 18 of her 27 points in the quarter.

The Wolfpack kept the pressure on but a strong game on the boards by Sarah Semeniuk, who got in to foul trouble early in the game, helped secure the win for Victoria.
The Vikes Debbie Yeboah continued her strong play with 20 points while Cassandra Goodis added 12 points with 7 rebounds.
The Vikes’ Sarah Semeniuk had a strong game on the boards pulling down 9 rebounds in a 73-65 win over the TRU Wolfpack.
Jen Ju led the way for the Wolfpack with 19 points. CIS leading rebounder Diane Schuetze was held to just 1 defensive rebound by the relentless Vikes.

With the win the Vikes improve to 3-2 on the season and are tied with the University of Fraser Valley for top spot in the Canada West – West Division standings.
The two teams are back in action tonight at UVic’s McKinnon gym at 5:30.
