It turns out that the women have one game remaining, despite having already clenched the Island Championship. They travel to Cowichan on Saturday. The club will be recognizing the women and presenting them with their trophy at the club Christmas party on December 8th.
The 3rds also travel to Cowichan on Sunday, for their final regular season match. They are meeting at the club at 11am to carpool up.
The other squads are done until January. Touch will be on every Thursday night until then, for anyone looking for a run (the Wednesday evening
touch sessions run by the 3rds will move to Thursdays).
The club will be open for the Grey Cup, once again featuring the annual Velox chili cook off. Mix up a pot with your old family recipe and see how it compares at half time.
On Dec 8th, the night of the Christmas party, someone will be at the club to sell t-shirts ($10) and jerseys ($35). Proceeds will go to supporting our youth rugby program.
Donating Rugby Equipment
On Dec 1st and 8th, club nights, the club will be assisting in the collection of rugby gear for charity: a UVic student has been organizing a donation of used gear for needy kids (7-18 years old) learning the game in the Philippines.
Do you have anything you can donate? A pair of cleats, practice jerseys, or rugby balls? Bring it to the club on either night for collection.
