Edmonton, AB – The Edmonton Oil Kings scored twice in each period en-route to a 6-1 win over the Calgary Hitmen Thursday night at Rexall Place.

The win extends the Oil Kings home ice winning streak to nine games while snapping Calgary’s five game road win streak.

Tyler Maxwell scored twice for Edmonton. Jordan Peddle, Kristians Pelss, Rhett Rachinski and T.J. Foster added singles.

Cody Sylvester had the lone goal for Calgary who was outshot 27-21.

Trevor Cheek and Greg Chase drew assists on the Sylvester marker to extend their personal point scoring streaks. Cheek now has points in seven straight games (3g 7a) while Chase (1g 3a) has points in three consecutive outings.

Calgary, 14-11-1-1 on the season, returns to Scotiabank Saddledome for a pair of games hosting Spokane tomorrow in the Canada Safeway Ltd. Movember game. Sunday they welcome the Medicine Hat Tigers in the 17th annual Petro-Canada Teddy Bear Toss. Game time Friday is 7:00 p.m. with a 4:00 p.m. puck drop Sunday.
