The University of Victoria Vikes men’s basketball team will face three strong NAIA Div. 1 teams during a late-December California tour.

On Dec. 28, the Vikes face the Concordia Eagles at 7:30 p.m., in Irvine, Ca (LIVE STATS / LIVE VIDEO), and then travel to face the Biola Eagles on Dec. 29 at 7:30 p.m. The three-day tour concludes on Dec. 30 when the Vikes face the Azusa Pacific Cougars in Azusa, Ca. Concordia (8-0) is tied at No. 1 in the NAIA Top 25 rankings with Robert Morris, and Azusa Pacific (6-2) and Biola (6-1) are also ranked at No. 10 and No. 15 respectively.

It’s an important preparation trip for the No. 5 nationally ranked Vikes (8-0 in conference play, 9-2 vs CIS opponents, 9-5 overall), as they host four tough teams in early January when conference games resume (FULL SCHEDULE). UVic hosts the No. 4 ranked Saskatchewan Huskies (5-2) on Jan. 6 at 8 p.m. and then the No. 6 ranked Alberta Golden Bears (6-2) on Jan. 7 at 7 p.m., with both games played at McKinnon Gymnasium. The following weekend, the Vikes host the No. 9 nationally ranked Fraser Valley Cascades (5-3) on Jan. 13 at 8 p.m. and on Jan. 14 at 7 p.m.

These are four of the final five regular season home games for the Vikes which will play five of their final six conference games on the road, closing out at home Feb. 17 against the UBC Thunderbirds.
