Vikes finish third in Holiday Hoops series

The Vikes women’s basketball team finished their holiday exhibition series with a close 67-68 loss to the Toronto Varsity Blues on Dec. 30.

The Blues earned the one point victory thanks to a Rachel Sider three point shot with one second left on the clock. Four Vikes earned points in double digits. Cassandra Goodis, led the way with a 17 point game, followed by Allison Mulock with 11 points. The tight score line was evident from start to finish as the Vikes held on to a 35-27 lead at the half. Veteran Debbie Yeboah was three for four from the line to total 10 points in the game.

The Blues stole away the Vikes’ 18 point lead with 13 minutes left in the game, as multiple UVic turnovers was the difference.

The Vikes finished with a 1-2 record, in third place.
