The Calgary Hitmen defeated the Kelowna Rockets 2-0 on New Year’s Day at Prospera Place in Kelowna in a battle of goalies, won by the Hitmen.

Chris Driedger earned the shutout, stopping all 27 shots the Rockets fired on net while the Hitmen got goals from Brooks Macek and Alex Gogolev in the win.

Jordon Cooke was solid in net for the Rockets stopping 33 of 35 shots.

The Rockets will host the Spokane Chiefs on Wednesday at Prospera Place before hitting the road for six straight games.
