Brandon, Manitoba – Tip Top Tailors , in conjunction with the Brandon Wheat Kings have announced their Player of the Month winner for December is former Saskatoon Blade left-winger Darian Dziurzynski.

A fifth round draft choice of the National Hockey League’s Phoenix Coyotes, Dziurzynski was one of three Wheat Kings to average at least a point per game during the month.

In nine games last month, the Lloydminster product scored a team high seven goals and 9 points. Of those seven goals, three came on the powerplay, two were shorthanded tallies and one was a game winner.

Acquired from Saskatoon in October in exchange for a pair of draft picks, Dziurzynski enters this weekend’s 2-game series against the Raiders in Prince Albert with 22 goals and 30 points in 32 games. During his Western Hockey League career, the 6’1″ 205 lb left-winger has scored 84 goals and 145 points while accumulating 467 minutes in penalties in 271 games.

Dziurzynski becomes the third Tip Top Tailors Player of the Month winner for the 2011-12 campaign, joining captain Mark Stone and 17-year old defenceman Eric Roy.

In recognition of the monthly honour, he will receive a shirt, tie and suit from Tip Top Tailors in the Shoppers Mall, the official menswear clothier of the Wheat Kings, during one of the club’s home games next week.

Following this weekend’s trip to Prince Albert, the fourth place Wheat Kings will return home for a 3-game home stand beginning Wednesday night against the Dziurzynski’s former team – the Blades.
