The Saskatoon City Police, Co-op and Huskie Athletics have teamed up in the Huskies Centennial year to bring fans the 2011-12 edition of Cop Cards. Each month, a new card released for fans to collect from school, a Huskie game or the Saskatoon City Police. The card will feature Huskie alumni who are now members of the Saskatoon City Police and current Huskie athletes.

January’s card will feature:
Sergeant Sharon Blomquist
Sharon attended Holy Cross High School in Saskatoon. She was a member of the Saskatchewan Provincial Volleyball team and competed at the Can-Am Games. Sharon was a member of the University of Saskatchewan Huskie women’s volleyball team from 1995-1997, while studying in the College of Arts and Science. She has since completed her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Commerce degrees. Sharon became a member of the Saskatoon Police Service in 1997 and has worked as a Constable in patrol, planning and recruiting and was a member of the Public Order Unit. She has also worked as a Sergeant in Training and is currently a member of the Forensic Identification Section.
Geoffrey Zerr, Middle Blocker, No. 5
Geoffrey is in his fifth year of study in the College of Kinesiology. In his rookie season, he had 103 kills, 4 service aces, 41 digs, and 12 blocks. From there, Geoffrey has continued to improve and be a key member for his team. This past year, he started in all 18 matches, recorded 92 kills, 2 service aces, 25 digs, and 41 blocks. Geoff has be a member of Team Sask three times and in 2006 was a member of the Youth Men’s National Team.
Matthew Busse, Outside Hitter, No. 18
Matthew is in his third year of study in the College of Kinesiology. During his inaugural year with the Huskies, Matthew played in 67 sets, recorded 161 kills, 17 service aces, 79 digs and 16 blocks, leading to him being named Huskie Athletics Male Rookie of the Year. This past season, Matthew has continued to excel in his playing by playing in 17 of the 18 matches. In the past year, Matthew has won under-18 provincials and was named SVA U18 Most Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year in 2008.
Candace Hueser, Outside Hitter, No. 4
Candace is in her third year of study in the College of Kinesiology. In the 2009-10 season, she played in 71 sets, recorded 230 Kills, 12 service aces, 144 digs and 23 blocks, which earned her the Huskie Athletics Patricia Lawson Trophy for Female Rookie of the Year. Last season, she led the team with 223 kills, 165 digs, 12 service aces and 29 blocks. Candace has also competed as a member of the Saskatchewan team at the Canada Summer Games.
