VICTORIA – The UVic Vikes are proud to partner with 100.3 The Q! to host the second annual TLC Fund For Kids Basketball Camp on Saturday, Jan. 28 at McKinnon Gymnasium at the University of Victoria.
Registrants get the opportunity to take part in a two-hour basketball camp with Vikes coaches and players with funds raised going to 100.3 The Q!’s TLC Fund for Kids (http://tlcfund.ca/).
Last year’s event sold out, with a great response from over 140 participants aged 7-14.
“This is a great community initiative,” said Vikes men’s basketball head coach Craig Beaucamp. “It’s a great way to connect with our fans and possibly some future Vikes student-athletes, reaching out to our neighbours in a positive way.”
“We are pleased to be able to raise funds for the 100.3 Q!’s TLC Fund for Kids,” said Vikes women’s basketball head coach Rich Chambers. “We want to be able to give back any time we can. It’s a great opportunity for our student-athletes and we’re happy to be a part of it once again.”
Participants receive the following benefits for a cost of only $25:
– Professional coaching from men’s head coach Craig Beaucamp and women’s head coach Rich Chambers, as well as varsity basketball players from both teams;
– An event T-shirt;
– lunch; and,
– a ticket to the Feb. 17 Vikes home game against the UBC Thunderbirds
