Prince Albert SK – National Hockey League Central Scouting has ranked two Prince Albert Raiders, 17-year-old forward Mike Winther and 18-year-old goaltender Cole Holowenko, among the top North American players eligible for the upcoming 2012 National Hockey League Entry Draft in Pittsburgh this June.

Winther, who was ranked 26th among all eligible North American skaters, currently leads the Raiders in goals, and is 2nd among all 17-year-olds in the Western Hockey League, with 22. The Trochu, AB native also leads the team, and is tied for 3rd overall, in power play goals with 12 on the season. The Raiders 1st round pick, 6th overall, in the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft had a breakout month in December, scoring 11 goal and 7 assists in 11 games, while earning WHL Player of the Week honours for the week of December 5th.

Holowenko has been ranked 26th among all eligible North American goaltenders, with a 4.07 goals against average and .890 save percentage, along with a 7-10-0-0 record this season. Like Winther, Holowenko played his strongest month of hockey in December, posting a 5-1-0-0 record, including a 5 consecutive win streak, during which he recorded a 1.55 goals against average and a .956 save percentage.
