Weekend Re-Cap (Jan. 13 & 14)

The Chargers basketball teams opened the second half of the PACWEST season at home this past weekend against the Capilano University Blues (defending PACWEST Champions on the women’s side and the CCAA’s No. 2 team on the men’s) and the Quest University Kermodes. The Chargers women fell in both their games but maintained their sixth-place standing with a record of 3-5. It was a different story for the Chargers men who picked up a pair of wins including a huge upset on Friday night against Capilano, ranked No. 2 in the country! In PACWEST volleyball action, the Chargers travelled to North Vancouver to take on the Capilano University Blues. The teams were unable to pick up a win with the women losing both matches in straight sets (25-18, 25-18, 28-26 and 25-15, 25-23, 25-15) and the men going down 3-0 on Friday (25-21, 25-23, 25-21) and 3-1 on Saturday (25-21, 25-23, 16-25, 25-18). The women are now 7-8 and maintain fourth spot in the PACWEST while the men remain in fifth with a record of 5-11.
