The Annual QMS Royals Classic basketball tournament has experienced foul weather problems of its own.

Following the harsh winter weather this week, the annual two day tournament which usually hosts eight high school teams from all over Vancouver Island, was reduced to only four teams. This meant an on-the-fly reformatting of the tournament to a single day round robin platform.

Participating teams were Queen Margaret’s School (host), Cowichan Secondary School, Duncan Christian School and Campbell River Christian School.

Following the first two games, it was clear Cowichan Secondary was a force to be reckoned with. In their first game of the day, they defeated Campbell River Christian School 52-24 and in game two, they beat host Queen Margaret’s School, 47-22.

Scheduled games for the rest of Friday, January 20th, 2012 are:

1:30pm Campbell River Christian School vs. Duncan Christian School (DCS)

3:15pm DCS vs. Cow High

5:00pm QMS vs. Campbell River Christian School

6:45pm QMS vs. DCS
