Cobble Hill 10K that was due to take place on Sunday, January 22 at 11 am has been cancelled due to weather and road conditions.
The announcement was made today after CEEVACS, the running club who organize the event, reviewed the race course. In a statement, CEEVACS said: “While the forecast is for warming and some rain, on viewing the roads just now we do not feel that the accumulations on the edges of the roads will allow for safe conditions for runners in an event this size. We also felt that making this decision would have to be in a time frame that would allow the best opportunity to get this message out to as many participants as possible, to allow travel plans to be altered/cancelled, especially for those coming from some distance.”
The Vancouver Island Runners’ Association (VIRA) will look at re-scheduling the race and contact participants when more information is available. For updates check the VIRA website – www.vira.bc.ca or email email@example.com.
