Richmond, BC (British Columbia Golf) – Richard (Dick) Lyle of West Vancouver, British Columbia has been named as a nominee for Sport BC’s Presidents’ Award.

Lyle, a long standing staff member, volunteer and Director of British Columbia Golf, will be honoured at Sport BC’s 46th Annual Athlete of the Year Awards presented by Telus taking place at River Rock Show Theatre in Richmond on March 8th 2012.

Lyle has been an active member and ambassador of British Columbia Golf for over 25 years, acting as a non-playing captain of 4 different Junior Boys’ Interprovincial Team competitions and as an official at over 100 provincial championships.

Over his tenure with British Columbia Golf, Lyle has created a reputation of being a course and slope rating industry leader, visiting essentially every course in British Columbia on at least one occasion to showcase his skills.

As part of the ceremony, Lyle will be honoured with fellow British Columbia Golf members Kevin Kwan (Junior Male Athlete of the Year) and Jisoo Keel (Junior Female Athlete of the Year) as potential recipients for awards in their sport categories.

Sport BC’s annual awards ceremony showcases the successes and hard work of athletes, coaches and officials in their performance and contribution to sport in British Columbia.

British Columbia Golf wants to acknowledge the contributions that Lyle has given to the game of golf in British Columbia and is honoured to have him as a member of their team.
