VICTORIA – The University of Victoria Vikes women’s and men’s rowing teams are hosting the 27th annual Monster Erg, the B.C. segment of five cross-Canada events as part of the Canadian Indoor Rowing Championship, this Sunday Feb. 5 beginning at 9:30 a.m. at McKinnon Gymnasium.
The Monster Erg is a satellite event for the Crash B Sprints World Indoor Rowing Championships in Boston later in February. Up to four rowers can qualify for Boston through their performance on Saturday if they surpass qualifying times.
The event is also a fund-raiser for the Vikes rowing teams. All ergometers – indoor rowing machines – have been sold for this year’s event. There were 11 used ergs for sale – each two years old – and 40 new ergs (Model D, Concept II). To be put on a wait-list for next year’s erg sale or for more information, please contact Rick Crawley at (250) 472–4036 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. (Erg Sale Info)
