The Nanaimo Clippers are playing game by game, point by point at this stage in the game in hopes of getting into the BCHL Playoffs.
On February 4th, the Clippers took on the 1st place Surrey Eagles at Frank Crane Arena.
The Clippers gave up a quick goal, to Sean McGovern, unassited at 5:21, and then the Clippers got into some controversial penalty trouble, and the Eagles jumped up another goal by Brett Mulcahy assisted by Tyler Morley and Brandon Morley.
In the second it got rough, and the only goal in the period was scored by the Nanaimo Clippers at 10:17 on the power play by Captain Trevor Fitzgerald assited by Taylor Carmola.
In the third it was much of the same, but Eagles Alex Hagen gets an empty net goal to sum the game up, with an Eagle win.
Clippers tallied with 23 minutes of penalties, while the Eagles tallied for 16 minutes. The Clippers got unlucky with the referees in this game!
The Clippers next game is on Wednesday agasint the Eagles again at Frank Crane Arena, and then on Friday against Alberni Valley, the Clippers will be playing their hearts out, each point counts now!
