Victoria (ISN) – Undeterred by last night’s double defeat to the University of the Fraser Valley Cascades, the Camosun College Chargers men’s and women’s volleyball teams came out in full force today to close out their final home games of the season.

The Chargers women repeated last night’s stand out performance taking the battle to five and winning two significant sets against the No. 4 nationally ranked UFV Cascades! In today’s match, UFV came out with the early start winning the first two sets 25-17 and 25-22. Camosun came alive in the third set with a 10-4 lead which grew to a 25-20 win for the home team. The fourth was a see saw battle with the teams going to 19-all before the Chargers began their push into the home stretch where they claimed their second set of the evening 25-21. A fired-up Camosun squad posted a 10-4 lead in the final set but a five point run by the Cascades made it a tie game and the visitors quickly turned the set in their favor. Despite a hard fought and exciting contest, Camosun fell 12-15 giving the match up to UFV in five.
