Friday, February 10, 2012 (ISN) – BC Hockey announced today that Chase Lang (Nanaimo, BC) has been named the Major Midget League Player of the Month for January. Lang had a great month finishing with six (6) goals and five (5) assists.
On the back of Lang’s strong play and leadership the Silvertips have moved up the standings; they currently sit in the 6th and final playoff position. Lang scored a number of important goals for the team in January and will be relied upon heavily in the Silvertips push for their first playoff berth in two (2) seasons.
“Chase is a dedicated, hardworking hockey player. He has been consistent in scoring and has greatly improved his defensive side of his game during the season,” commented North Island Silvertips head coach Dan Lemmon. “He plays key minutes in games and is used not only on our power player, but our penalty kill as well.”
