Story and Photos By Mark Yager (www.niceshot.ca)

ISN is pleased to present our first ever video “One-on-One”  as our own Mark Yager recently took along his video camera to have a chat with Victoria based tri-athlete Sam Mercier.

Esquimalt based Sam Mercier, a member of the Canadian Navy, has been participating in Triathlons for only a few years and in August 2011, he won the Olympic distance Subaru International Triathlon in Sooke, BC.

Sam’s favourite leg of the triathlon is the bike.  He enjoys it because of the speed and various challenges associated with bicycle racing.

Sam was gracious enough to spend some time with ISN to do a video interview and pose for some photos.

In the interview, which is just over seven minutes in length, Sam talks about his favourite and toughest triathlons, a bit about how he trains, and where he thinks the sport is going in the future.

Please enjoy ISN’s first ever video “One-on-One.”
