JDF Pee Wee A Grizzlies Off to Provincials!


(ISN) – The Juan de Fuca Pee Wee A Grizzlies defeated Campbell River 12-1 last Sunday to clinch the Island Pee Wee Tier 2 Championship and will now head to Penticton to compete for the BC Pee Wee Tier 2 Provincial Championship over March break.

The JDF PeeWee A Grizzlies finished a great season today knocking off the Northern Island Champion Campbell River A Tyees 12-1 on home ice at Bear Mountain.

The Grizzlies were again quick out of the gates after an initial push by the Tyees. The sharpshooters were out for the Grizzlies today scoring 6 goals on 11 shots to lead 6-1 after the first.  The Grizzlies led 11-1 after two periods adding 15 more shots and giving up 7.  The third period saw the Grizzlies only scoring one goal on 9 shots and giving up 6. The Grizzlies concluded their playoff run with 5 wins 0 losses and with goals for of 52 and against of 4.

Congratulations to the coaches and players on a perfect 12-0 regular season as well as a perfect 5-0 in the playoffs to proudly bring home two banners for the JDF Minor Hockey Association.
