The Vikes, the reigning Canadian National Invitational Seven Championship title holder, will look to repeat as champions against 11 other teams, while two women’s Vikes teams have entered the bid to win the national women’s crown against three other teams.

One of the reasons for the event is toward the development of rugby Sevens players as it will make its debut as an Olympic sport in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This is the second year for the event after it was hosted at UBC in 2011.

Round-robin play begins on Friday at 10 a.m. The Vikes men will play three games on Friday, the first at 10:44 a.m. (FULL SCHEDULE).

UVic’s two women’s entries will square off against each other at 1 p.m.

Tickets for all games will be available at the stadium as well as from the Rugby Canada ticket hotline (905) 780-8998 ext. 245 and through email at events@rugbycanada.ca?subject=Rugby%20Canada%20Tickets%20Request&;body=%20%0A%0A-%20referred%20by%20govikesgo.com”>events@rugbycanada.ca.
