Day 1 of the National Invitational University Sevens Rugby Championships is in the books and despite a constant drizzle and some chilly temperatures it went off without a hitch.
This is the second year of the Championships and while it is being put on by Rugby Canada and not officially sanctioned by the CIS they do fully support and endorse the event. This year’s tournament has grown to 12 men’s teams from 8 last year and now includes a women’s division with 5 teams.
