The undisputed leader of the Vikes, Darren Hupfer (Edmonton, Alta.), shot 73-72 (145) following the first two rounds on the par-71 course. Hupfer’s three-over-par score puts him in a four-way tie for sixth place.
Following day one, there was a three-way tie for first place between Wayland Baptist’s Bradley Sinnett, Point Loma’s Zane Keith and California Baptist’s Steven Watson. The trio finished the day with an even par-142.
The Vikes’ third place standing is also credit to Carson Kallis and Kyle Blacquier (Fredericton, N.B.), who both shot 77-74 (151) to tie for 17th. James Holland (New Minas, NS) finished tied for 23rd with a 72-80 (152) score, while brother Samuel Holland (New Minas, NS) finished tied for 34th with a 78-77 (155) score.
