California Baptist University’s Steven Watson finished first overall shooting two-over-par (72-70-73) after three rounds, one stroke ahead of the four way tie for second place. Aaron Flores, of Our Lady of the Lake, Bradley Sinnet, of Wayland Baptist, Zane Keith, of Point Loma Nazarene, and Steven Gouirand, of CSU-San Marcos, finished three-over-par (216) for the second place tie.
UVic second-year Darren Hupfer (Edmonton, Alta.) continued to lead the charge for the VIkes with a one-over-par (72) finish on the final day to keep him tied for sixth overall at one-over-par (217). Hupfer was consistent over two days on the par 71 course shooting 73-72-72 over three rounds. Hupfer finished tied with Ryan Ellerbrock of Point Loma Nazarene, who shot a three-over-par (74) on the final day.
Cal State-San Marcos beat out hosts, Point Loma Nazarene, by two strokes to take first place with a team score of 880. The Vikes trailed Point Loma by nine strokes for third place and Wayland Baptist University finished fourth with a team score of 899.
Second-year Vike Carson Kallis improved from yesterday’s 17th place finish to a ninth place final placing after a one-over-par finish in the third round. Kallis shot 77-74-72 over three rounds to tie four others with ten-over-par (223).
The Vikes continued to have a good final day with Samuel Holland (New Minas, NS) jumping from yesterday’s 34th place finish to a tie for 15th after shooting even on his final round to finish 13-over-par (226) for the tournament. James Holland (New Minas, NS) finished tied for 32nd (232), while Kyle Blacquier (Fredericton, N.B.) finished tied for 51st (242).
