Victoria, BC (ISN) – The seventh race in the Frontrunners Island Race Series – Merville 15K – takes place on Sunday, April 1 at 11 am. The race starts at Merville Community Hall, 1245 Fenwick Road, Merville. The race is hosted by the River Runners Run Club.
Runners can register online until midnight, Wednesday March 28 at www.vira.bc.ca or on race day at the Merville Community Hall. Race registration until March 28 is $25 for adults and $20 for students. Race day fees are $35 and $30 for students.
“The Merville 15K offers participants a chance to get into a pace, not worry about cars and run their own race,” says Cathy Noel, President of the Vancouver Island Runners’ Association (VIRA).” It’s a great training run leading up to the Vancouver Marathon and even a base run for those that are heading to Boston to run on April 16th.”
The Prairie Inn Harriers, Victoria lead the club standings with 3,520 points, followed by Comox Valley Road Runners with 1,910 and Frontrunners Athletic Club with 1,607.
Eight races make up the Frontrunners Island Race Series. Merville 15K will be followed by the last race in the series – Sooke River 10K on April 15. All races are sanctioned by BC Athletics.
