(ISN) – The University of Victoria Vikes men’s golf team rebounded from an 11th place finish on day one and climbed three spots to finish seventh after three rounds at the Battle at Primm, hosted by Grand View University, Mar. 26-27. Vikes second-year Darren Hupfer (Edmonton, Alta.) was the lone Vike to crack the top 20 after finishing even-par after three rounds.

Hupfer finished in a four-way tie for eighth place thanks to a third round score of 69, his best of the three, to finish with a total score of 216, even-par. Oklahoma Christian’s Alasdair Dalgliesh took top honours, finishing 8-under-par, while Wayland Baptist’s Darryn Els took second place with 6-under-par.

The Vikes men finished tied for seventh with Concordia University with three-round scores of 308-292-290. Vike Samuel Holland (New Minas, NS) finished tied for 33rd with a 9-over-par score, while Carson Kallis (Red Deer, Alta.) shot his lowest round of 72 today to finish 10-over-par and tied for 39th.

Also competing for the Vikes were Dylan Cann (T-43, +11) and James Holland (T-60, +15).
