Tigers Bite Blades in OT


(ISN) – Emerson Etem scored his third goal of the game 9:42 into overtime to lift the Medicine Hat Tigers to a 3-2 win over the Saskatoon Blades in Saskatoon, SK, in Western Hockey League action on Tuesday night.


Etem netted his fourth, fifth and sixth goals of the series, including scoring shorthanded early in the third period, while Dylan Bredo picked up two assists for the Tigers, who take a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven Husky WHL Eastern Conference quarter final series. Tyler Bunz turned in a 32-save effort to claim the win.

Michael Burns and Matej Stransky scored for the Blades, who now find themselves needing a win on Wednesday night in Game 4 to keep themselves alive in the series. Andrey Makarov made 33 saves in the loss.
