(ISN) – Keegan Lowe scored and set up another as the visiting Edmonton Oil Kings exploded for five third-period goals en route to a 6-3 win over the Kootenay Ice in Game 3 of their Husky WHL Easteron Conference quarter final series on Wednesday.
Curtis Lazar – with a goal and two assists – Griffin Reinhart, Kristians Pelss, Mitch Moroz and Henrik Samuelsson also scored for the Oil Kings, who trailed 3-1 heading into the third period but tallied five unanswered goals as they now hold a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. Laurent Brossoit made 23 saves in the win.
Elgin Pearce, Sam Reinhart and Dylen McKinlay scored for the Ice, who were scoreless on four power play chances in the contest and now face the task of having to win the last four games of the series if they want to move on. Nathan Lieuwen made 31 saves in the loss.
The Ice host the Oil Kings for Game 4 of the series on Thursday.
