(ISN) – The Juan de Fuca Pee Wee Grizzlies defeated the North Shore Winter Club 5-0 last Wednesday to win the championship title at the 2012 BC Hockey Tier 2 Pee Wee Provincials in Penticton.

The win capped off an undefeated tournament for the Grizzlies, as they sailed through the round robin portion of the tournament with wins over Cranbrook (17-1), Kamloops (6-2), and North Shore Winter Club (7-1) before using a 3 goal and 3 assist performance from Keegan Durrance to squeak out a 6-5 overtime win over Mission in the semi-finals.

In the Championship game, the Grizzlies opened the scoring early in the first period on a powerplay goal by Jordan Guiney.  This turned out to be the winner as the Grizzlies went on and scored 4 unanswered third period goals to secure the championship banner.
