(ISN) – Curtis Valk scored twice and Tyler Bunz made 32 saves to record his second career playoff shutout as the visiting Medicine Hat Tigers shut down the Saskatoon Blades 5-0 in Game 4 of their Husky WHL Eastern Conference quarter final series on Wednesday night in Saskatoon, SK.
With the Game 4 win, the Tigers sweep the best-of-seven series versus the Blades and advance to the second round of the WHL playoffs for the fourth straight season.
Emerson Etem scored his seventh goal of the playoffs while Scott McKay and Dylan Bredo each tallied their first post-season markers for the Tigers, who opened the scoring on Etem’s goal 15:46 into the second period then added four more in the third period.
Andrey Makarov made 23 saves in a losing cause for the Blades, who were swept out of last year’s playoffs in the second round by the eventual champion Kootenay Ice.
