Wheat Kings Advance With 3-2 OT Win Over Calgary

Paul Ciarelli scored his second goal of the game 8:26 into overtime to lift the Brandon Wheat Kings to a 3-2 victory over the visiting Calgary Hitmen in Game 5 of their Husky WHL Eastern Conference series on Thursday night.

With the Game 5 victory, the Wheat Kings claim a 4-1 best-of-seven series win over the Hitmen and move on to the second round of the playoffs.

Alessio Bertaggia also scored for the Wheat Kings, who won the last three games of the series while outscoring the Hitmen 10-4 in the process.  Corbin Boes turned in a 42-save performance to claim his fourth win of the playoffs.

Alex Gogolev and Chase Clayton scored for the Hitmen, who went without a power play opportunity in the Game 5 loss.  Brandon Glover made 40 saves in a losing cause.
