Warriors Top Medicine Hat 2-1

(ISN) – Joel Edmundson scored twice to lift the Moose Jaw Warriors to a 2-1 victory over the visiting Medicine Hat Tigers in Game 1 of their Husky WHL Eastern Conference semi final series on Friday.

Luke Siemens made 16 saves on 17 shots to pick up his fifth straight victory for the Warriors, who saw their shutout bid ended with under a minute remaining in the third period. 

Tyler Bunz made 41 saves in the defeat for the Tigers, who were outshot 43-17 but went 1-for-2 on the power play in the Game 1 setback.  Curtis Valk – with his fifth of the playoffs – had the lone marker for the Tigers.
