(ISN) – The Victoria Selects baseball team is sitting on top of BC Baseball’s Midget AAA standings with a record of 16 wins and four losses.

The team swept all four games this past weekend, beating Vancouver 6-3 and 5-3 on Saturday and Richmond 10-9 and 1-0 on Sunday. In an exciting come-from-behind win, the team was down 7-1 in the fifth inning of the first game against Richmond, before the Selects scored nine to go ahead.

The 10-team Midget AAA league includes squads from across southern British Columbia, including Vancouver Island, the lower Mainland and the Okanagan. Cowichan, the only other Island team, currently sits in sixth place with a record of six wins and six losses.

The Selects, managed by Rocky Vitale, are on their way to Parksville this weekend to play in the B.C.’s Best tournament.
