Victoria, BC (ISN) – The Victoria Goddess Run takes place on Sunday June 3. The Victoria Goddess Run consists of the Frontrunners Half-Marathon, Westhills 10k and What’s Up Media 5k starting and finishing at Goudy Field on Langford Parkway.
The Frontrunners Half-Marathon early start for walkers starts at 8 am, the main start is at 9 am, the Westhills 10k at 9.30 am and the What’s Up Media 5k at 9.45 am. Runners and walkers will be on the road until approximately 12.30 pm.
Langford Parkway will have alternating traffic to allow for a one lane closure for the start and finish area of the event. Sooke Road at Happy Valley and at Royal Roads, will have more frequent traffic stops to allow for participants to cross. Many other roads are in use, but participants will be using the road shoulder, bike lanes and crossing at designated locations with marshals and traffic controllers to ensure their safety.
Residents will be able to access all of the streets in which the event is taking place, however, the race organizers are asking all members of the public to be cautious of walkers and runners on the road, to ensure they have a safe race. Drivers should shoulder check prior to right hand turns to avoid cutting off the participants. Traffic controllers, in orange safety vests, will be on the course assisting participants at intersections.
The race organizers appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation in acting considerately to
ensure a safe race for everyone involved. The Notice to Residents with map can be seen on www.victoriagoddess.com/goddessweekend.
