Victoria (ISN) – This Saturday Night, Western Speedway will see another Car Load Night Promotion, load your car with as many people as you can legally get in for the low price of $30.

You will see another faced paced racing experience that will be presented by O’Dell Slinger Service that will be highlighted by round two of The Keg Steakhouse & Bar Late Model Driver Challenge. The Late Models will run Twin 50 lap Main Events, at the fast 4/10ths paved oval in Langford. In addition to the Late Models, the Island Series Stock Cars, SDL IMS4 Mini Stocks and the Island Dwarf Car Club will also be in action.

After round one of The Keg Late Model Drivers Challenge, Victoria’s Wade Bland leads the point standings with 172 points, there is a three way tie at 168 points for the second position between Rory Smith, Vancouver’s Jason Teresenko and another Victoria driver Gary Smith. Teresenko and Rory Smith were the main event winners at the opening race of the year on May 12th. Darrell Midgley rounds out the top five with 160 points. Rookie Late Model driver Aaron Wilkie sits in sixth position with 152 points.

The Island Series Stock Cars will make their third start of the year with Duncan’s Cody Aumen leading the point’s parade over Kyle Cottam and Ryan Wade. Former Stock Car Champion Brian Clutchey won his first main event of the year last Saturday Night, making it three different winners in three races.

The SDL Bins Mini Stocks will also be in action, as Alex Mouner and Matt Szauer lead the way in the points after their double header last weekend, Szauer won Fridays feature with Mouner finishing second. They switched positions on Saturday with Mouner winning and Szauer in second. Jeremy Wazel sits in third position followed by Gord Percival in fourth.

The Island Dwarfs Cars will see their second event of the year on Saturday Night, Ike Armitage will look to make it two wins in a row at Western this year but can expect tough challenges from Mike Meeres and Mike Shott.

The next event at Western Speedway will be Saturday June 23rd for the Dukes of Hazard Night that will feature Josh “The Crusher” Beckel as he performers another electrifying Car Jump, along with Demo Car and Truck action, Bombers and Mini Figure 8’s.

The front gates open at 4:30 pm, qualifying at 5:30 and racing at 6:30 pm.
