NANAIMO (ISN) – Parents, do you need an idea for a constructive way to keep your kids busy this summer? PacificSport invites you to enrol them in one of our fun and exciting multi-sport camps.

They will enjoy learning the FUNdamentals of up to 16 different sports from qualified community coaches, and burn off a little of that excess energy!

PacificSport will be hosting an XploreSportZ Summer Camps in Parksville July 9 – 13th and in Nanaimo July 30 – Aug. 3rd and Girls Only Camp Aug. 13 – 17th from 9am – 4pm each day. Participants will sample a variety of sports including run jump throw, Taekwondo, ultimate Frisbee, bounce ball, yoga, baseball and many more.

“XploreSportZ programs are a great way to introduce children 7 – 12 years of age to a variety of sports.” states Catharine Edwards, PacificSport’s Program Coordinator “Each sport is introduced in a manner that places the focus on exploration and fun. This approach makes XploreSportZ camps equally great for both athletic and non-athletic children.”

XploreSportZ Camps are key to improving physical literacy in children. Physical literacy is critical for children to feel confident when they engage in physical activity for fun, health and competition. It is the basic building block for staying physically active and healthy as an adult. It is a fact that without the development of physical literacy, many children and youth withdraw from physical activity and sport. They will turn to more inactive and/or unhealthy choices during their leisure time. Basic movement skills are critical to a child’s participation in any sport or recreational activity. Everyone is capable of becoming physically literate.

The cost of the camp includes a camp T-shirt, morning & afternoon snacks. Space is limited with only 30 seats available at each camp, so please register early to avoid disappointment.
