Victoria, BC – The Victoria Shamrocks will look to even their season series with league-leader Langley Thunder on Friday night. The Thunder managed a narrow 9-6 victory over the Shamrocks last weekend in Langley to drop Victoria to second in the WLA.

With a week to stew over just their third loss of the season, you can bet the ‘Rocks will be ready for the rubber match at when they host the Thunder at Bear Mountain Arena. Faceoff goes at 7:45pm.

They say the measure of a man is how he faces adversity, if this is true then the Victoria Shamrocks have been full measure for 2012, managing to avenge losses to New West and Burnaby in their very next meeting, a good sign going forward as they host the Thunder just 6 days after getting edged out in Langley. The 7-3 Shamrocks are looking to stabilize their position in the standings after a tough stretch of the schedule that saw them go 2-3 versus top WLA opponents and a win in versus Langley will go a long way in that regard.

The 8-4 Thunder have played 12 games, 2 more than the Shamrocks this season and will be looking to give themselves some breathing room with a second consecutive win over the Victoria club. The Thunder have been up and down this season, winning and losing in stretches but with wins over New West and Victoria respectively, last year’s WLA champions are hoping to settle into a win streak with valuable points on the line.

Also, it’s Christmas in July when the Shamrocks take on the Langley Thunder on Friday July 6th at Bear Mountain arena with donations being accepted for CFAX Santa’s Anonymous.
