Victoria, BC – The Victoria Shamrocks will look to snap a four game skid when they host the New West Salmonbellies at Bear Mountain Arena Tuesday night. The ‘Rocks will also be hosting “Heroes Night” in honour of all local heroes in the community.
The National Anthem will be performed by the Naden Band and all hero’s who attend in uniform will be admitted free. Faceoff goes at 7:45.
The 7-6 Shamrocks take on the New West Salmonbellies in search of a season series win on Tuesday, and with the two old rivals sitting level in points with 14 and a share of the last spot in the WLA playoff race as they head into the home stretch of the season. The ‘Rocks are 4-2 at home so far this season and will be looking to use the advantage to snap their current skid and pick up a huge win versus the ‘Bellies.
The New West Salmonbellies, meanwhile, maintain a 7-7 record and with one more game played than their Island rival, badly need a win in Vitoria if they hope to control their own fate in determining a playoff berth. The Salmonbellies will have their work cut out for them however as they carry a dreadful 1-6 road record into the Bear, a trend the ‘Rocks hope they can help continue.
Tuesday Night is “Heroes Night!” at Bear Mountain Arena. All Military and Essential Service personnel (Fire, Police, Ambulance, and Nurses) will be admitted FREE if attending in uniform.
