Silvertips Get Forward Gordon from Hitmen


EVERETT – The Everett Silvertips today announced a trade with the Calgary Hitmen that will bring 1994-born forward Luke Gordon to Everett in exchange for defenseman Darian Henry.

Gordon, 18, has three WHL games with the Hitmen on his resume from the past two seasons. The 6-1, 190-pound winger spent most of last year with the Nanaimo Clippers of the British Columbia Hockey League. In 49 games he scored 13 goals and added seven assists for 20 points to go with 24 penalty minutes. A native of Terrace in northwestern BC near the Alaska border, Gordon was placed on Calgary’s protected list in 2009.

Henry, 17, appeared in 16 games for the Silvertips last season. Hailing from Strathmore, Alberta, he posted one assist, 28 penalty minutes and a -2 rating before being re-assigned to the Alberta Junior Hockey League. The 6-4, 165-pound defender then recorded three points (1g/2a) and 62 penalty minutes in 16 AJHL games with the Drumheller Dragons. Henry was originally selected by Everett in the seventh round (#139 overall) of the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft.
