Q’s Track Series Awarded Championship Status for September 1st Meet

Victoria (ISN) – The Q’s Victoria Track Series is very pleased to announce that the governing body of the sport of running in British Columbia, BC Athletics, which is also the provincial arm of Athletics Canada, has today granted The Q’s Victoria Track Series championship status for the upcoming September 1st 2012 meet.

This final meet of the season takes place at the University of Victoria’s Centennial Stadium starting at 7:30 PM.

This particular meet, within The Q’s Victoria Track Series, is formerly known as Popeye’s Supplements 10,000m Invitational. This meet will now be named Popeye’s Supplements 10,000m BC Championships.

The Championships include open, master and senior age-category athletes. There is no 10,000m championship designation for junior runners. There will be a 5,000m race available for all ages and abilities.

The Q’s Victoria Track Series is a multi-meet series of events that take place at the University of Victoria’s Centennial Stadium as well as the Jack Wallace Memorial Track at Oak Bay High School. Distances offered range from 400m to 10,000m. All meets include opportunities for runners of all abilities to participate, from beginner to elite.

The Q’s Victoria Track Series directs funds to the charity-of-choice, The Mustard Seed Food Bank.
