BC Starts Strong With 2-0 Record

Edmonton (ISN) – The 2012 Canadian Little League Championships began Saturday in Edmonton Alberta, and the Hastings Park squad from Vancouver has started strong and has a 2-0 record.

The Hastings All-Stars opened Saturday with a 3-0 win over the High Park Braves of Ontario and followed that up Sunday with a 12-0 drubbing of the NDG Lynk of Quebec.

In other action Saturday, The Glace Bay Colonels (Atlantic Division) overcame a strong start by the host Millwoods White Sox and a weather delay to win their opening game 5-4.

The White Sox put together a 4-run first inning but after a timeout called by the Colonels they responded with 3 runs of their own in the second. The Colonels added another 2 runs in the 5th and 7th innings.

The game was called due to a thunderstorm at the bottom of the 7th inning and neither team was able to capitalize on the restart held the next morning. The score remained 5-4 at full time.

Also, the Lethbridge Southwest All Stars (Prairie Division) won their game against the NDG Lynx (Quebec Division) 6-1 earlier in the day.

 

Games continue throughout the week with the final going Saturday.
