In their third and final round robin game, the M’s met up with the number one seeded Langley Blaze and despite being out-hit 8-3, the Jr Mariners came out on top. Lucas Piechnik knocked in the eventual game winning run in the 5th with a single, while winning pitcher Nick Dawson went the distance.

With that last win, the M’s clinched first in their pool and secured a match-up with the Coquitlam Reds, the second place finishers in the other pool.
In that semi final, the game remained scoreless until Lucas Piechnik’s triple in the 5th inning drove home the game’s only run. Outstanding pitching performances by Redlegs Ryan Mose (6 IP, 3 H, 3 BB, 10 Ks)) and Jr Mariners WP Zach Downey (7 IP, 3 H, 2 BB, 5 Ks) kept the game close, but it was Downey prevailing in a nail-biting finish.
In Sunday’s final against Abbotsford, the Mariners got down early 1-0 in the first, but then scored 4 runs in the 2nd and 3rd innings to jump into a 4-1 lead.
The Cardinals would chip back with a single run in the bottom of the 4th, but a 3 run top of the 6th would put the game away for the Mariners.
