Langford, BC – The Westshore Rebels head into battle this Saturday as they host the 1-1 Kamloops Broncos at 4:00 pm for their second home game of the season at Bear Mountain Stadium.
Gates to the stadium are set to open at 2:30PM. Tickets will be available at the gate for $12.00 for adults and $9.00 for students and seniors.
The Rebels are coming off a dominating performance against the Chilliwack Huskers where they emerged with a 46-8 victory last Saturday. The Rebels offence was on target totalling over 400 total yards, highlighted by running back Greg Morris, who was spectacular with eight carries for 143 yards and a touchdown. The Rebels defence was also solid, allowing the Huskers to muster a total of only 62 yards of offence. The Rebels special team also played well, headed by an award winning performance from kicker Quinn Van Gylswyk, who won the “BC Lions Special Teams Player of the Week”, kicking a 15-yard field goal and going six for six in converts.
The 1-1 Broncos are coming off a 35-7 loss to the Okanagan Sun. The Rebels will try and use a similar game plan as the Sun, who recorded four turnovers against the Broncos last weekend. The two evenly matched teams should make for a hard hitting, exciting game.
