Kelowna, B.C. – (August 14, 2012) – The team of Dave Zibrik (Seymour Creek Golf Centre) and Lindsay Bernakevitch (Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club) blistered Tower Ranch Golf & Country Club over August 13-14th to win the 2012 PING Golf PGA of BC Pro-Pro Championship.

The two Class “A” Professionals found themselves two shot behind the overnight leaders after an impressive seven-under par 65 in the Best Ball format on Monday. They continued their fine play on Tuesday, firing ten birdies and an eagle en route to an eleven-under par 61 in Tuesday’s scramble format, claiming the victory by three shots over the team of Kevin Maxwell (Olympic View Golf Club) and Bill Kelly (Glacier Greens Golf Club).

For their win, Zibrik and Bernakevitch split the $2,500 first place cheque, while Maxwell and Kelly earn $2,000 for their second place finish. Wrapping up the top five in a three-way tie for third place were the all Kelowna Golf & Country Club team of Rob Anderson and Jamie Stevens, long-time friends David Bolton (Savage Creek Golf Centre) and Darryl Stubbs (Cove Links Golf Course), and the Okanagan pair of Dean Claggett (Two Eagles Golf Course & Academy) and Greg Machtaler (Summerland Golf & Country Club). Each third place team earn $1,300 for their efforts.

The format of the popular two-day event pairs any two PGA of British Columbia golf professionals, competing in best ball and scramble formats for a share of the $13,000 purse.

The PGA of BC would like to thank PING Golf Canada for their generous sponsorship of the event, as well as Tower Ranch Golf & Country Club Head Professional Neil Schmidt and the Carrington Group of Company for their generous support in hosting the Championship.
